Dolomitic Limestone or just dolomite is a garden grade calcium magnesium carbonate. Dolomitic Limestone can be used to increase the soil’s pH. By neutralizing acidic soil, nutrients are more readily available to absorb. Limestone also improves soil texture and helps convert other nutrients into usable forms. Plants benefit from recently limed soil and Vegetables grow best in slightly acidic soil, with a pH between 6 and 7.

Before the applications of any organic fertilizer a soil test should be completed for an analysis for any deficiencies in the soil.
To raise the pH of the soil 1 pH. In most cases 5 pounds of dolomite for every 100 square feet. Please note sandy soils will require more dolomite to raise pH than clay soils.
Prepare garden bed before use, remove unwanted plants, weeds and debris. Rake surface of soil to ensure even distribution of the amendment.
Till and mix in dolomite into the top 6-7" of soil and water throughly so amendments begin to break down and leach into the soil.
Allow 2 weeks for Dolomite to settle before planting.
Use Personal protective equipment when handling any amendment.
Store in a cool, dry location, out of direct sunlight. Protect from frost and other climatic extremes. Seal packaging between uses.
